Tip of the month
"Steady as she goes"
Do you ever wonder how a professional photographer gets such clarity in their image?
More oft then not, it's because we use sturdy tripods as a first step in the creative process. While a great shot (or even a not so great shot) is created by a combination of a myriad of elements from lighting, exposure, lens quality, etc, one of the simplest things someone can do to swing the odds in their favor is by using a tripod!
You can't control the sun, the wind, or whether your Aunt Ethel blinks right as you push the shutter release but you can eliminate camera shake caused by yourself. Adding a tripod to the mix has the added benefit of forcing you to slow down and take time to compose your shot. It helps shooters break out of the cycle of hastily composing, clicking, and then racing to the next shot. If your goal is to become a better photographer and you prefer quality over quantity, take my advice. Add a tripod to the mix and you are one step closer to achieving maximum clarity.
Happy shooting!
